Summer is here and as a result of some scheduling conflicts, growing groups, or new LLL approaches, changes have been made to some dates, locations, and groups!
Happy New Year! With new year’s resolutions on our mind, our meeting, series 4: Nutrition & Weaning, discussed how to eat healthy, get the family to do the same, and how to safely lose weight while breastfeeding. So what is healthy? Which is healthier: Fresh or frozen fruits & veggies? Does dieting affect your milk supply? were some questions that we discussed and we also had a goodie bag surprise!
At December’s meeting, we discussed all the ways stress can build up and how to avoid stressful situations.
>Meeting #2 In order to get the meetings back on track we did meeting #2 again The Family and the Breastfed Baby. We brainstormed on how far the mothers have come, what they have learned so far about breastfeeding, parenting, ect, and to help them sort through what they think is most important about those things.
>Meeting #2 I must first apologize this meeting was supposed to be The advantages of Breastfeeding #1. I ended up doing meeting #2 instead which is Baby Arrives –The Family and the Breastfed Baby. During this meeting we talked a lot about the days after baby arrived and what mothers discovered they needed for the baby verses what all of the baby lists said they needed.
>We were all set to discuss the importance of Breastfeeding within the 1st hour after birth, however we didn’t have one mother show up! Guess the business of the Holidays has arrived early. We really hope that we’ll see more...
La Leche League of Northern Arizona is a group of women who meet and support each other in their desire to feed their babies in the best possible way. We meet every month in the towns of Cottonwood and Flagstaff.
