Meeting #2 I must first apologize this meeting was supposed to be The advantages of Breastfeeding #1. I ended up doing meeting #2 instead which is Baby Arrives –The Family and the Breastfed Baby. During this meeting we talked a lot about the days after baby arrived and what mothers discovered they needed for the baby verses what all of the baby lists said they needed. I made a tree out of poster board and then cut out leaves in fall colors. Each leaf had a word or phrase such as wipe warmer, sling, premade meals, crib ect. I handed out the leaves and instructed that each family has different needs and one item might have been a lifesaver to one mom, and not even touched by another. Leaves of importance were taped on the tree and those that were not were taped on the ground below. It was interesting to see that many of the mothers had the same ideas about what was necessary to them and what was not. It sparked a lot of conversation. It was a learning experience for everyone.
