With new year’s resolutions on our mind, our meeting, series 4: Nutrition & Weaning, discussed how to eat healthy, get the family to do the same, and how to safely lose weight while breastfeeding. So what is healthy? Which is healthier: Fresh or frozen fruits & veggies? Does dieting affect your milk supply? were some questions that we discussed and we also had a goodie bag surprise!

Many women would like to return to their pre-pregnancy weight as soon as possible after birth. It can take several months or even a year to achieve this. Part of the weight that a pregnant women gains is an “energy deposit” to meet the extra caloric demands of breastfeeding. It is consumed gradually while the mother nourishes her child.
